● Africa is home to more than 1.3 billion people.● Africa has the world's youngest and fastest-growing population.● Over 60% of Africa's citizens is under the age of 24.
However, many young Africans face challenges in acquiring the skills and knowledge necessary to transition into the workforce, build successful careers, and contribute meaningfully to their organizations and communities.
The African Employability Skills Programme (AFRES) is a transformative initiative designed to bridge the skills and knowledge gap by equipping African youth with practical skills, the right attitudes, and essential knowledge needed to gain employment, thrive in the workforce and start and run successful businesses.

  • What is AFRES?

    AFRES is the African Employability Skills Program, a collaboration between Youtherium and The Strategic Centre (The SC) designed to empower African youth with the skills they need to succeed in the job market.

  • What are the benefits of choosing AFRES?

    AFRES offers a comprehensive learning path that includes personal development, workplace skills, digital skills, and business and entrepreneurship. Participants also have the opportunity to engage in post-class workshops with industry experts and subject matter gurus.

  • Who is eligible for AFRES?

    AFRES is open to young Africans who are looking to enhance their skills and increase their employability. Our focus age bracket is from 16-35 to include final year students, graduates, youth corp members, entry-level staff, freelancers, business owners and those that have spent less than 5 years on the job.

  • What are the stages of the AFRES programme?

    The AFRES Learning Path is divided into four stages:
    ● Personal Development: Focus on self-discovery, communication skills, confidence building, and uncovering your true abilities.● Workplace Skills: Master essential skills such as teamwork, time management, and problem-solving for success in the professional arena.● Digital Skills: Navigate the digital landscape and master essential tech tools to stay ahead in our tech-driven world.● Business and Entrepreneurship: Explore business realms, from crafting business plans to understanding market dynamics.
    Each stage is carefully curated to provide a comprehensive skill set for career success.

  • Will I be given Certificate of Completion?

    Yes. You will receive a Certificate of Completion at the end of each stage upon successful completion of the exams and quizzes.

  • How long is the AFRES programme?

    The AFRES Programme is a 6-Months Programme broken into 4 Stages. The programme is self-paced, meaning every learner has a maximum of 6-months to complete the programme and graduate. For learnes with ample time, they can finish earlier provided they complete the various stages and write all the exams and quizzes and assignments.

  • Can I stop after each stage?

    We encourage all learners to go through all the stages and complete the exams to graduate from this programme.

  • What is the format of the AFRES programme?

    The AFRES programme is a combination of online and offline learning. Participants will have access to online courses, videos, and other resources. They will also participate in post-class workshops with industry experts and subject matter gurus.

  • What are the career outcomes for AFRES graduates?

    AFRES graduates will be equipped with the skills they need to succeed in a variety of professions. They will also have a strong network of contacts that they can leverage to find employment.
